ArcReady ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website arcready.net (the "Site"), an electrical safety and arc flash training platform. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data.

a) Information you provide voluntarily
- Account registration: Email address and password (stored as a hashed value — your plain-text password is never saved).
- Feedback form: Optional name, email address, feedback type, and message text submitted through the feedback button.
- Password reset: Email address used to request a reset link.
b) Progress data stored locally and synced to our server
ArcReady saves your learning progress in your browser's local storage. If you create an account and sign in, this data is also synced to our server so you can access it across devices. This includes:
- Exam scores, attempt history, and certification status (Safety and Theory)
- Virtual lab session results
- Study presentation completion status
If you do not create an account, all progress data remains on your device only and is never transmitted to our servers.
c) Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, we and our third-party service providers automatically collect certain technical information, including:
- Browser type and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages and sections viewed (tab navigation events)
- Time and date of your visit
- Referring website or link
- General geographic location (country/city level, derived from IP address)

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site. Google Analytics collects information such as pages visited, time on site, and device type using cookies and similar technologies. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on.

Hostinger (Web Hosting)
ArcReady is hosted on Hostinger. Our server logs may capture IP addresses and request metadata as part of standard server operation. These logs are retained per Hostinger's data retention policies.
5. Data Retention
- Account data: Retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time (see Section 7).
- Progress data: Retained until you reset your progress or request account deletion.
- Feedback submissions: Retained for up to 12 months for quality improvement purposes.
- Analytics data: Retained per Google's default data retention settings (up to 14 months in GA4).
6. Children's Privacy
ArcReady is intended for adult learners in professional and workplace safety contexts. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the Site, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
7. Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account and associated data
- Export your progress data (available via the My Progress tab)
- Opt out of analytics and personalized advertising (see Section 4)

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information, including:
- Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms before storage
- Password reset tokens are single-use and expire after 1 hour
